The Time-of-Day Rate

Your electric bill can be affected by when you use electricity, 和 how much you use. With the optional Time-of-Day Service, business customers will pay less for electricity used during off-peak hours – but more during periods of peak electricity dem和. If you can take advantage of this rate, you will be able to save on your electric bill. A daily basic service charge applies. 

How the rate works

Time-of-Day Service benefits customers who can shift much of their electrical usage to certain off-peak hours. If you sign up for Time-of-Day Service, a meter designed to measure usage during peak 和 off-peak hours will record the electricity you use during each hour of the day. The electricity you use during off-peak hours will be billed at a lower offpeak rate. 然而, electricity used during peak hours will cost substantially more per kilowatt-hour than you are paying at your present rate.

What are the peak 和 off-peak hours?

Winter Period: November through March, peak hours are during two periods daily:

• 6 a.m. 到10岁.m.
• 6 p.m. 到10点.m.

Summer Period: April through October, peak hours are during one period daily:

Saturday 和 Sunday are off-peak periods 和 so are the following holidays: New Year’s Day, 阵亡将士纪念日, 独立日, 劳动节, Thanksgiving Day 和 Christmas Day.

还记得, electric heating 和 air conditioning systems are often the largest single energy users at your business. Your ability to minimize use of these 和 other electric equipment during peak hours will determine whether you can benefit from Time-of-Day Service.

Energy conservation starts with you

Time-of-Day Service is one way 坦帕电 is working to reduce the amount of electricity that customers use during peak periods of energy consumption. Reducing the peak electric dem和 helps to delay construction of costly additional power plants.

Large commercial 和 industrial customers

Optional Time-of-Day rates are also available for General Service, Dem和 和 Interruptible Service customers. A daily basic service charge will apply to each metered account.
